If the hypothyroidism is caused by a pathogen, then you have a good chance at improving it.
Depression can be caused by many things. In my case it was the lack of enough of Omega three fatty acids. this was also the case for one of my younger brothers. Krill Oil resolved it completely for both of us.
That may not be your answer, but it is easy enough to test. There is also at least one type of viral infection that would be worth targeting for depression. The borna virus causes depression in horses but its role in human depression is still debated. Since we have the ability to test for these connections via treatment, we don't have to debate whether it is the cause of not. We can just target the pathogen and see if any improvement occurs.
There is a pretty good supplement that helps many with depression also. Rhodiola Rosea can help quite a bit on its own. Not a cure but a good stop gap measure you can take to improve the condition. Just make sure the brand is standardized to a minimum of 3% rosavins and 0.8% to 1% salidroside.
