Adding an image to a post
When writing a message, it is possible to add image(s) to display something you are talking about, for example. In this tutorial, we what to show you how easy images can be added.
When adding images to your posts, please make sure you are using the "Advanced" editing mode. If you can see little icons like these, http://www.rifeforum.com/images/icons/youtube.gif http://www.rifeforum.com/images/icons/divxicon.gif, you are in the advanced mode. If not, click on the "Go Advanced" button.
If the image is already on the Internet
If the image you wish to add is already on the internet, all you need is the complete address of the image. To determine this (if you are using Internet Explorer for example), simply open a window where the image you want to use is displayed and do the following:
Right click on the image and then select "Properties".
A window appears, select the entire Address: (URL), right click and copy
Close the properties window
Now switch back to the area where you write your message on the forum and place the cursor where you wish to insert the image.
Now click on the button http://www.rifeforum.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif for including images in your posts and paste the URL for the image in the box that appears and then on OK. Your image will now appear in your post. If you are using the plain text editor mode, you will see your URL between two tags.
Example:
http://www.trekcon.de/trekconbanner.jpg
If the image is on your Computer
If the image is on your computer, the easiet way to include it with your message is to upload it as an attachment. To do this, simply do the following:
Click on the "Manage Attachments" button which you will find in the "Additional Options" window below the message area.
Click on the Browse button, and then select the image you want to upload
Once the location of the image is displayed in the box, click on the "Upload" button on the far right. Your image will now be uploaded - this will take a moment.
Once uploaded, it will be listed. You can add several images this way.
When you have finished uploading images (and any other attachments), you can close the attachments window.
Note: You can practice using the various tools, and seeing what they look like, with the Preview button. Your message will only appear in the forum after you have clicked on the Submit button.
