New Online Chat System Installed!
Although we did recently install an online chat system on the Rife Forum, it was clumsy to use and it was not easy to make contact with other online members. A few members did try to use it, but it was just not an ideal system and has now been removed.
It has been replaced by a different and much more powerful system: CometChat (http://www.cometchat.com)!
You will find it in the form of a gray bar at the bottom of the screen when you use the Rife Forum.
On the left, you will find a series of buttons which are mainly special pop-up links to many of the most important Rife related websites. If you just hover your mouse over the respective buttons, you will see a short description of what can be found on each button as follows:

The above list is subject to change without notice (in particular, more links may be added).
Whenever you click on one of these links, the respective website appears in a pop-up window on this forum. This makes it easy to visit these respective websites without even having to leave the forum.
Rife Forum Chatrooms
The final button on the left is not an internal link, its the new Rife Forum Chatroom System!
http://www.rifeforum.com/forum/cometchat/themes/default/images/icons/chatrooms.png Chatrooms
In this new Chatroom, you can invite other members to join in on a live discussion. Any number of members can join in the discussion. It will be displayed for 30 minutes after the last message is posted and then automatically deleted.
It is simple enough to use, simply click on Create Chatroom and invite others to join in. You can all discuss a common issue live and in real time.
Ideal when a number of you wish to discuss an issue before posting something. Only forum members can see the messages posted here.
Private Chat System
There is also a private chat system which allows you to start a 1:1 discussion with any other member who is online at the same time.
Just click on "Who's Online" and you will see a list of everyone who is visiting the forum at the same time you are.
If there is someone listed there you wish to chat with, just click on their name and a new chat window appears (Facebook users should find the chat system familiar).
The chat window displays the name and avatar, of your partner, a file send function for sending small files, a clear conversation button (in case the boss comes), Chat history to see previous private chats with the same person, a time toggle so you can see when the posts were made, a game button so that you can play a selection of online games with your partner and a handwriting tool which enables you to create a small sketch.
To simply send a message, just type it in at the bottom of the window and press the enter button. Your message will appear on your partner's computer within seconds.
CometChat Options
Finally on the far right, you can set a few options for using the chat system.
This enables you to see and set your online status as follows:
Online: This says you are online and open to receiving chat messages from other members.
Busy: Thiy means you are online, but do not have time to chat right now, perhaps later
Invisible: This is your personal "Do Not Disturb" sign. When you set yourself to be invisible, other members will not see you listed as someone who can be contacted via the chat system (e.g. as if you were not online). You can however still see other members who are online and start a chat with them.
When you receive a chat message, you will hear a short tone to make you aware of it. If you would prefer not to hear such a tone, you can click on the box to disable it.
The Add friends feature can be used to associate yourself with others on the forum. This is used by a number of systems on the forum.
Security
The personal chat system is much more secure than email when exchanging messages with other members. Like the pm (personal message) system, your messages remain within the forum system and are not sent via any public email systems. The forum runs on a secure server in Germany where privacy rules are taken seriously.
I am pleased to have been able to add this new functionality to the forum and hope you find it very useful.
